Hotpad is made by Codeptum. In short: the app works on your Mac, and nothing about how you use it leaves your Mac.

The app

• Hotpad reads touches on your trackpad and keyboard shortcuts only to perform the actions you set up. This happens entirely on your Mac.
• There are no accounts, analytics or crash reporting.
• Settings are stored on your Mac in ~/.config/hotpad. Optional usage statistics, if you turn them on, stay in the same folder and are never sent anywhere.
• To check a license key, the app sends the key and an anonymous identifier of your Mac to our payment provider, Polar. Nothing else is sent.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record. Polar receives your email, payment details and billing country to process the order, send your license key and meet tax obligations. We see your email and order details in Polar so we can help with support. We never see your full card number.

This website

hotpad.app uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@hotpad.app.
